Privacy

This page describes what racistnation.us collects and why. We run a news and membership product about racism as a subject of coverage. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers on this site.

Effective 8 October 2026. Operator contact: support@racistnation.us.

What we collect

Cookies and sessions

When you sign in we set a first-party session cookie (rn_session). It is HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax, and it is used only to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party ad cookies. Signing out clears the session.

Analytics

We use first-party Umami analytics served from our own domain (/u.js and related collect endpoints). It helps us understand aggregate traffic. We do not sell analytics data. Session replay / heatmap recording (/recorder.js) is disabled until we ship a clearer consent control.

Payments

Paid memberships are billed through Stripe. Card numbers are handled by Stripe, not stored on our servers. Stripe’s privacy terms apply to payment processing. We receive enough information to grant, change, or cancel your plan.

Member chat (Stoat)

Eligible members may continue archived story threads on Stoat (stoat.racistnation.us). That service has its own account and session handling for chat. Use it only if you choose to open a channel from a story page.

What we do not do

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect people from serious harm, or to investigate abuse of the service (for example malware links or account takeover).

How long we keep data

Account and membership records last while your account exists. Comments remain with the story unless removed for abuse or legal reasons. Security logs and blocks are kept as long as needed for abuse prevention. You can ask us to close an account via support@racistnation.us; some records may be retained where we must (billing, abuse, legal holds).

Your choices

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update this page and the effective date. Continued use of the site after an update means you have seen the new version.

House rules for comments and coverage: guidelines. This page is a product disclosure, not legal advice.
